PPJ Initiative launches SHUN CORRUPTION Project, Conducts Capacity Building for Christian leaders on Christianity and Corruption

A faith-based organization, Priests Peace and Justice Initiative (PPJ), the social arm of Palace of PRIESTS ASSEMBLY (PPA) will from June 26-28, 2018 in Abuja reconvene Christian Leaders in Abuja to officially launch SHUNCORRUPTION Project and back to back conduct a three- day Capacity building/ Train the Trainer sessions on Christianity and corruption for Northern zones (North Central, North East and North West) in Abuja.

The Launch and Capacity building sessions which will be replicated in Lagos for South West Zone on July 10-12, 2018 and Warrifor South East and South South zone on July 24-26, 2018 are part of activities in the implementation of the SHUN CORRUPTION project by the Priests Peace and Justice Initiative (PPJ)/Palace of Priests Assembly (PPA). Supported by the MacArthur Foundation, the SHUNCORRUPTION project is geared towards mobilizing Christians, especially Pentecostals, to join in the fight against corruption across the country.

An earlier release by Dr. OtiveIgbuzor, the General Overseer of PPA said it is worth noting that the entire training arrangement will be predicated on Christian perspective—a Bible research-based Manual rich in scriptures, principles and values that will be used by researchers/trainers towards meeting the objectives of the trainings; mainly capacity to organize, abhor corruption and fight against it.

The capacity building sessions which promise to be an eye-opening event for the Christian leaders and workerswill enhance theircapacity to advocate and campaign against corruption and social ills from a Christian perspective with emphasis on ethical values in Christianity that despisethem. This will complement, boost and sustain the anti-corruption efforts in the country, push national development and also strengthen the social responsibility structure and content of the church for the benefit of the members and the society at large.

He urged all the participants/trainees to be very dedicated to all the sessions, to earnestly develop new capacities which will lead to the effective implementation of the project and attainment of desired outcomes. The statement further enjoined all Christians to join hands together and make the project work to change the face of Pentecostal social development not only in Nigeria but across the world ### #Shun Corruption
