Event Report: Step-Down Training on Establishment and Management of the Church Social Arm

Location: Chapel of Grace and Holiness, Ochi Idoma’s Palace, Otukpo

Program Schedule:

10:30 am: The program commenced with the arrival and registration of participants. Praise and worship were led by Evang Solowise Idu.

Attendance: A total of 44 participants, comprising 27 men and 17 women, were present.

Welcome Address: Bishop Cephas Okwori facilitated the welcome address, setting the tone for the day’s proceedings.

11:00 am: His Royal Majestic, Pastor (Dr) Eliagwu Odogbo John Obagaji (Oche-Idoma V), delivered a goodwill message on “Dismantling the Chains of Corruption.” He emphasized the importance of various sectors, including religious leaders, communities, government institutions, private sectors, NGOs, media, and the general public, joining the “war against corruption” using biblical standards and principles.

Ethics and Integrity Discussion: His Majesty also spoke on ethics, integrity, and morality, referencing biblical passages such as Exodus 20:3-17, Deuteronomy 5:6-21, and Matthew 5:48, to highlight the importance of upholding ethical standards in all aspects of life.

Introduction to the Shun Corruption Project Theme: Dr. Agbaji Orinya facilitated a session on “Mobilizing Christians Against Corruption,” where church leaders and workers were trained on how to combat and preach against corruption. Participants engaged in discussions, sharing experiences, and seeking advice on standing firm against corruption pressures.

Second Session (1:00 pm – 2:00 pm): The training continued with the topic “Exploring the Role of the Church in Societal Transformation and Establishment with Management of the Social Arm of the Church.” Facilitators encouraged leaders to be transparent and accountable in church dealings, especially financially, to uphold good doctrines and advocate against corruption.

Conclusion: The program concluded with questions, comments, group pictures, and refreshments at 2:30 pm, fostering a sense of camaraderie and collaboration among the participants.
